2D Registration

Download the video: SimITK_2D_Registration.zip (.zip containing .avi container)

This video demonstrates a 2D registration framework visualized as it converges in real time. Our custom StepByStepImageRegistrationMethod is highlighted as it facilitates extraction of metric values and transform parameters at each iteration from within the Simulink environment.

Surface Model

Download the video: SimVTKSurfaceModel.zip (.zip containing .avi container)

A simple demonstration showing a Surface Model workflow generated from a CT volume of a phantom. The initial volume used has box artifacts on either side of the bone, but an additional file exists with these artifacts removed. This demonstrates how easy it is to change the file name in one dialog box and re-run the workflow to get the new Surface Model.

Volume Rendering

Download the video: SimVTKVolumeRendering.zip (.zip containing .avi container)

This is a very simple demonstration of a Volume Rendering workflow.

Surface Model, Volume Rendering, vtkPlane

Download the video: SimVTKSurfaceModelVolumeRenderingvtkPlane.zip (.zip containing .avi container)

This is a more complex video in which the viewer is taken on the guided process of creating a new hybrid workflow of the previously shown Surface Model and Volume Rendering workflows.
Copying, Pasting, and fusing of the workflows is shown and done effortlessly. Once the model is created, since the two volumes are registered, one can clearly see both models co-existing in the one window. To emphasize the registration and that the two volumes are together, a vtkPlane is introduced with a Sine Wave block to sinusoidally cut through the volumes to reveal the insides. The vtkPlane and Sine Wave blocks are added live during the movie to show how simple it can be.

Certus Optotrak Optical Tracker and SonixRP Ultrasound Machine

Download the video: SimVTKCertusOptotrakDRBandPointerSonixRPUltrasound.zip (.zip containing .avi container)

Currently, this video has no voiceover due to unforeseen video complications, but the
video conveys successful third-party code integration. The workflow is shown that connects the SonixRP and the Certus Optotrak systems within SimVTK followed by a screencapture video of the RenderWindow along with a student inside a Picture-in-Picture demonstrating the motions with the US probe with connected DRB as well as pointer.
